Fill Buckets

“Filling buckets”: is a concept that enables people to identify the things in their lives that help them feel fulfilled and aligned with their life purpose. It builds self-awareness and helps people practically take action and make improvements to achieve harmony within their lives.

  • Based on feelings, emotions, and sense of control
  • Can influence energy levels, productivity, stress and/or burnout

Whether big or small, those holes in our buckets can deplete our energy levels, vigor, and zest for life. They can distract us from our purpose and steal our attention. They can even contribute to physical, emotional, or mental stress.

But work doesn’t have to drain our buckets. We tend to have more control of situations than we believe we do. Employees who embrace the concept of filling buckets can enhance their own performance and influence the emotions, behaviors, and performance of those around them. They actively seek opportunities to uplift and inspire their team members, and foster an environment where people can feel valued and appreciated. This creates a positive work culture where all team members are achieving a fuller bucket.

In other words, those who make time to recognize and appreciate the efforts of their team members contribute to a productive and engaged workforce.
