Reflecting on Feelings

Emotions are complex and can fluctuate based on a number of different circumstances. Understanding what we are feeling and why we are feeling is a key component of emotional intelligence.  Leverage Abraham Hicks emotional guidance scale to gain self-awareness. Provide the graphic.

Today, let’s explore three empowering strategies to help leaders boost emotional intelligence and navigate complex feelings effectively.

Strategy 1: Establish Safe Spaces

Create safe spaces where professionals feel comfortable reflecting on and sharing their emotions. Foster an environment of trust and openness, where individuals feel supported and valued. Encourage open dialogue and active listening, allowing team members to express themselves without fear of judgment or reprisal.

Strategy 2: Encourage Personal Reflection

Encourage personal reflection as a means of understanding and processing emotions. Check-in on participation with introspective practices, such as journaling, meditation, or self-assessment exercises. Emphasize the importance of self-awareness and self-expression in developing emotional intelligence.

Strategy 3: Lead by Example

Lead by example by openly sharing your own feelings and reflections when appropriate. Demonstrate vulnerability and authenticity in your communication, showing that it’s okay to discuss emotions in the workplace.
